Tamar de Vries Winter is a designer and maker of enamelled jewellery and silverware.

In working with precious metals and enamel (glass and oxides) she fuses ancient and contemporary techniques and concepts.

Her interest in ceremony, both personal and public, has led her to create a collection of limited edition ceremonial and ritual objects : drinking vessels, candle sticks, boxes and spoons. Her current focus is making a range of Judaica: mezzuzahs, spice boxes, kiddush cups, and Torah ornaments.

Tamar Winter initially trained as a jeweller at St Martins School of Art, London, and continues to make enamelled jewellery: brooches, pendants, earrings and cufflinks. Her work is part of the collections of The Jewish Museum in New York, The National Museum of Scotland, as well as various other private collections.

She is on the Crafts Council Index of Selected Makers, and also a member of the British Society of Enamellers. For the last five years she has been co-director of Studio Fusion, a London gallery dedicated to vitreous enamel.

Tamar was born in Israel, and the traditions and colours of the Middle east are reflected in her work. She has taught, lectured and held master classes in the UK, USA, India, and Israel.

Her work can be seen at Studio Fusion, OXO Tower, London and Electrum, South Moulton Street, London.
