There are three categories of BSOE membership:
Associate Membership
Associate membership is open to all. Associates receive the newsletter
and information about the society, are welcome to take part in workshops,
meetings, and other BSOE activities. They can submit work to some
of the exhibitions organised by the society. One associate member
has a place on the executive committee.
Student Membership
Student status is open to full time students in higher education, during their course
and for two years after graduation and gives the same entitlements as associate membership.
Full Membership
Full members can submit work to all BSOE exhibitions and have a
page on the society web site. They receive the newsletter, all postings
and invitations to activities, and can vote and stand as officers
of the society and as ordinary members of the executive.
Applicants for full membership must have their
work vetted by the Selection Committee. Written support as well
as finished pieces is required, but prior to selection meeting
each applicant will be put in contact with a member of the Selection
Committee who will offer advice on presentation.
