Patricia Schelper Jones is an artist who, after a comprehensive art training, concentrated on calligraphy. Currently the focus of her work is enamelling on both copper and steel panels. On both metals she uses leaded or industrial non-leaded enamels, used separately or together to explore and realise the qualities of the materials and the design.

Much of her creative thinking revolves around letters, signs, graffiti and all manner of marks, as well as the surfaces on which they reside. These are very potent evocative tools which can operate on a variety of levels of meaning and interpretation. Artists such as Tapies, Motherwell and Johns have provided an important stimulus for her work.

Her work has been exhibited in London, Bristol and other places in the U.K. She has also exhibited internationally in America, Japan and Germany. She has work in private collections in Britain, Greece and Dubai.
